Some articles, reviews, tutorials, resource pages, and social media content may contain affiliate links or other commercial relationships. This Affiliate Disclosure explains what that means and how we approach recommendations. ## What is affiliate marketing? An affiliate link is a special link to a product, service, or provider. If you click that link and then take a qualifying action—such as making a purchase, starting a paid subscription, or signing up for a service—we may receive a commission or referral fee. The provider or affiliate programme may use cookies or other tracking methods to attribute the action to our referral. ## Does using an affiliate link cost you more? Using an affiliate link does not, by itself, add a fee to the price you pay. However, the provider sets its own prices, plans, taxes, renewal terms, and promotional offers, and those can change. Always review the provider’s current pricing and terms before you buy, subscribe, or sign up. ## Software, apps, trials, and subscriptions Because Desire In Tech covers technology and software, affiliate links may lead to software applications, online tools, hosting services, learning platforms, productivity products, AI tools, and other digital services. A referral may relate to a free trial, a paid plan, a subscription renewal, or another qualifying action, depending on the programme. A free trial may convert to a paid subscription unless you cancel in accordance with the provider’s terms. Check the provider’s billing, cancellation, eligibility, and renewal conditions before signing up. ## How we disclose affiliate links When a page or post includes affiliate links, we aim to make that relationship clear and easy to notice before or close to the relevant recommendation or link. Depending on the content, we may use wording such as “Affiliate link,” “We may earn a commission if you purchase through this link,” or “Ad.” Where relevant, we may also provide a short disclosure near links shared in social media content. This general policy is supplementary: we do not rely on this page alone to disclose affiliate links in individual articles or promotions. We aim to provide a clear, context-specific disclosure where the recommendation appears. If you encounter content that you believe needs a clearer disclosure, please contact us. ## Editorial independence and honest recommendations Our goal is to publish useful, relevant, and accurate information. An affiliate relationship does not guarantee that a product will be recommended, ranked highly, or described positively. Where relevant, we consider factors such as features, usability, pricing, integrations, limitations, support, and suitability for the intended use case. We aim to distinguish general research from first-hand experience. We will not intentionally suggest that we personally tested a product, feature, or service unless that claim is accurate. Product availability, capabilities, and our assessment may change as products are updated or new information becomes available. ## Sponsored content, free access, and other benefits From time to time, we may receive complimentary access, product samples, discounts, sponsorship payments, or other benefits from companies. If such a relationship materially affects a piece of content, we aim to disclose it clearly in that content. Receiving access or compensation does not mean we guarantee a favourable review or endorsement. ## Third-party products and services Products and services mentioned on Desire In Tech are provided by third parties. We do not control their websites, security practices, pricing, availability, terms, performance, or customer support. Verify important details directly with the provider before making a decision. Any opinions or information we provide are general in nature and should be considered alongside your own needs and research. ## Affiliate programmes and programme-specific rules We may participate in affiliate programmes operated by software companies, marketplaces, networks, or other providers. Each programme has its own eligibility rules, tracking methods, commission terms, and marketing requirements. We aim to follow the applicable terms, including any requirements concerning disclosure wording, brand assets, paid advertising, coupons, email promotion, social media, and permitted traffic sources. If we join a programme that requires a specific disclosure, we will use the wording and placement required by that programme in the relevant context. For example, if we participate in the Amazon Associates programme, we will include the programme’s required statement wherever applicable. ## Search engines and affiliate links Where technically appropriate, we aim to identify paid or affiliate links using the relevant link attributes, such as `rel="sponsored"`, in line with search engine guidance. Link attributes are a technical signal and do not replace a clear disclosure to readers. ## Social media and other channels We may share content and links through social media, newsletters, videos, or other channels. Where a post contains an affiliate link or is sponsored, we aim to disclose the commercial relationship clearly within the relevant post or content, rather than expecting people to find this general page first. Each platform may also have its own rules for branded or promotional content. ## Privacy, cookies, and tracking Affiliate programmes and third-party providers may use cookies, tracking links, or similar technologies to attribute referrals and measure activity. Their data practices are governed by their own privacy notices and policies. We cannot guarantee particular outcomes, savings, earnings, productivity improvements, or other results from using a product or service mentioned on this website. You are responsible for assessing whether a product or service is suitable for your circumstances. ## Updates to this disclosure We may update this page as our website, business practices, affiliate relationships, or applicable requirements change.
